Oral Presentations

All speakers should come to the Speaker Preparation Desk (located next to the Registration Desk) immediately after registering.  At the Speaker Preparation Desk, a technician will check you in, upload your presentation and then ask you to briefly review and finalize your presentation. This is a very important step because there may be compatibility problems with the computers supplied in each room.  Internet connectivity is not available in oral session rooms.

If you are attending the ICCC for the day of your session only, please visit the Speaker Preparation Desk as early as possible to test and have your presentation file loaded into the computer in your session room prior to the start of your session.

Instructions for loading oral presentations:

All electronic files must be submitted at the Speaker Preparation Desk using one of the software formats listed below:

·         PowerPoint 2003 or earlier version

·         Operating System: Media should be PC Formatted

·         Plug-Ins: Quick-Time *, Adobe Acrobat 7

·         Video Playback: Windows Media Player*; Quick-Time *

·         PDF Reader: Adobe Acrobat 7

*Note: ALL Quick-Time or Windows Media Player users should make sure to submit their presentation to the Speaker Preparation Desk AT LEAST 24 hours in advance or preferably at registration, in order to check that these media work correctly on the PC in the session room.

Please submit your presentation utilizing one of the following media types:

·         CD-ROM a.k.a CD-R

·         CD-RW (not recommended)

·         USB Memory Stick or Flash Drive

Audio-Visual Equipment that will be available in each oral session room:

·         Notebook PC (running under MS Windows XP)

  • Software loaded on the PC includes

    • Microsoft Office 2003

    • Windows Media Player (Latest Version)

    • QuickTime (Latest Version)

    • Flash Player (Latest Version)

    • Adobe Acrobat Reader (Latest Version)

  • Data projector

  • Projection Screen

  • (Overhead Projectors will be available but not in every room; please indicate at the speaker preparation desk if you require one)

  • Please note:  Speakers may not use their own notebook PCs.  The very tight schedule for oral presentations will not allow equipment to be switched around between talks.

Poster Presentations

Posters should be put up on Monday morning, before 2pm.  All posters will remain in place throughout the conference and should be removed on Friday morning, before 12pm.  Note: The Conference cannot be held responsible for author materials left behind at the end of the conference.

We will provide standard poster boards (approximately 2.5 m x 1 m) and materials to affix your poster to these boards. To ensure the best possible display of all posters we require your poster to be A0 in size (no larger than 0.9 m wide and 1.25 m tall), and in portrait alignment. The font used should be CLEARLY readable from a distance of at least 1.0- 1.2 m by the viewer, and it is strongly recommended that the presenting author(s) place a photograph of themselves on the top right-hand corner of the poster.
